Qiantu K50 electric sports car is making its way to the US!

By Zlatan Stankovic on September 13, 2016

Though China isn’t known around the world for manufacturing sports cars, Qiantu (an upstart automaker) debuted the ‘K50 Event!’ to change this common perception, back in 2015. This car is powered by an electric motor. It produces 400 horsepower (equivalent to 294 kilowatt) and 480 lb-ft torque. The vehicle is said to reach 62 mph (100 kmh) in approximately five seconds. A single charge will allow it to cover a distance of 200 km (124 miles). According to reports, the new car might even be introduced in the U.S. market. The K50 will start production sometime during October 2016 in China. The company hopes to release a number of prototypes for testing purposes as well. If everything goes according to plan, the company is expected to start releasing the K50 in the U.S. during the second half 2017. No doubt the K50 does seem to possess a lot of potential. While there is no word regarding the price of the K50, some executives note that it will have to be comparatively much lower than Tesla cars to achieve success. Source: https://goo.gl/2B3YJR
