US New and Reports put together a list of EVs and Hybrids in order of a number of criteria. One of the most important rankings was fuel efficiency. This can be a bit tricky to rank between Hybrids and EVs because the Hybrid uses some gas while EVs run on an electric charge. Even comparing cost is not sufficient because the price of gasoline fluctuates daily. So, this is not a perfect list. However, if you are looking for the top Hybrids and EVs on the market, this should give you plenty of options.

Fans of the plug-in hybrid will have something to cheer about when Jeep introduces this technology to their popular Wrangler SUV. While exact details are sketchy currently, the 2020 Jeep Wrangler Plug-In is expected to have the same powerplant and battery power that currently sits in the Chrysler Pacifica.

The first Audi R8 e-tron was unveiled as a concept car at the 2009 Frankfurt Motor Show and has since been tested and tweaked by Audi resulting in ten different versions of the all electric car. In a recent press release, Porsche details their all new 2014 Porsche 918 Spyder Hybrid. According to Porsche, the new 918 Drivers has a unique all wheel drive system with a combustion and electric motor on the rear axle and a second electric motor on the front axle. Down to the chassis and axles, this 918 was built with racing and motor sport in mind.
