2013 Cadillac Escalade — White on Tan, 6.2L V8, Three-Row Leather, Chrome 22s Why This Car Is Special The 2013 Cadillac Escalade sits at the end of the third generation, a body style that ran from 2007 through 2014 and is widely regarded as the most visually assertive Escalade ever produced. By 2013, GM had refined the platform considerably — the electrical systems were more mature, the interior quality had been upgraded over the early third-gen cars, and the 6.2-liter L94 V8 was well proven. This was also the final stretch before Cadillac completely redesigned the Escalade for 2015 on an all-new platform, which means a clean, well-equipped 2013 Cadillac Escalade like this one represents the last expression of a specific era in American full-size luxury SUVs. The 6.2-liter V8 in this generation Escalade was rated at 403 horsepower and 417 lb-ft of torque from the factory. It used GM's Active Fuel Management system, which can deactivate four cylinders under light load to improve highway fuel economy. The L94 is a variation of the LS-family architecture, which means parts are widely available, the engine has a strong reliability record, and performance upgrades are well documented. This particular truck has had a K&N cold air intake fitted, which improves airflow into the engine and gives the V8 a noticeably more aggressive induction sound at wide-open throttle. It is a simple, well-known modification that does not negatively affect reliability. The VIN on this truck decodes to a standard-wheelbase Escalade built at the GM Arlington, Texas assembly plant — the same facility that has built full-size GM SUVs for decades.
