Unless you have driven a Mercedes CL600, there really is no way to describe the incredible rush they provide. Not only is this car heart-stopping fast, the power distribution is smoother than the devil in leather pants.
When Mercedes conceived this car in the hallowed sanctum of the AMG division of Stuttgart, the engineers were given a simple mandate: build the smoothest, fastest, most refined super car in the world; and the bean-counters will figure out how much to charge. And at an MSRP of $156,000 ($204,000 in 2018 dollars), they left nothing to chance. The finished product was a 493 horsepower V12 power plant with 590 pounds of torque, hurtling this 4,473 pound genie's bottle from 0-60 in 4.27 seconds-making it faster than a 2005 Bentley Continental GT and Ferrari F360.
This particular 2005 CL600 is unique in several respects. First of all it is highly optioned with such options as keyless go, radar speed control, extended wood package, heated steering wheel, heated and cooled seats and voice activated phone. Of the 2255 CL600's manufactured between 2000-2006 (average 322 per year) it is also one of just 54 which was finished in Midnight Blue. I should know, I ordered it from the factory myself and took delivery at Fletcher Jones Mercedes in Orange County, California.
This one-owner car has been lovingly cared for since day one and has been meticulously serviced by the dealership since new. Before it needed it, it was replaced-regardless of cost. The finish is simply spectacular and has no evidence of rock chips, dents or fading. This is, quite simply, a "no excuses" car. Everything works. Everything! And as you may also have researched, these cars can be expensive to maintain, so when finding one that needs nothing, you have already saved yourself many thousands of dollars. Air is cold, windows work, air conditioned seats operate properly... Well, you get the idea.
