Few vehicles are as significant, successful, or instantly recognizable as the venerated Land Rover. Radical in design when launched in 1948, the Land Rover has proved itself as quintessentially British as the Union Jack. It is the epitome of off-roading vehicles, and this is a very rare opportunity to own possibly the finest example of the most iconic trucks to come out of England. 

The 1997 Land Rover Defender 90 offered here is a tasteful example built in 1997 for sale through Land Rover in New York. From the years 1993-1997, the Defender 90-110 were delivered to the US, making 1997 the last and most desirable year. Per the original window sticker to the truck, it was factory-finished just as it presents today in brilliant Beluga Black over Grey livery.

Under the hood, a 3.9-liter V-8 engine is mated to an automatic transmission powering a full-time four-wheel drive system with high and low ranges. Land Rover five-spoke alloy wheels shod in Radial All-Terrain tires round out the originality and give the Rover a proper stance.

This one owner example shown here has been maintained in immaculate condition since delivery. The truck was maintained in the Hamptons, New York for almost the entirety of its life. Of the supposed 2,800 US Delivered D90's, roughly 250 were finished in Beluga Black which makes this truck (#0864) exceptionally rare. 

Just over 3,800 miles have been covered since new and very maintained by Land Rover dealerships throughout the years. This truck will be sold with 2 keys, the original owner manual, original Land Rover fabric roof and original window sticker from 1997!
