This 1964 Series 1 E-Type OTS in finished in the special order color of Opalescent Golden Sand, hence the name Sandy.

Chassis #881468, this car was manufactured in April 1964 and delivered in June 1964 to her first owner in New York. This car remained in original, excellent condition for more than 35 years before changing hands and moving to Massachusetts where it stayed until 2016, spending all of those decades as a driver and never out of service. Then, Motorcars Incorporated was tasked with the mandate: restore the vehicle without making it appear overdone. All finishes, preparations, and materials were selected and used to bring the car back to how it looked and operated back when it was first built.

Knowing this is a matching number car - with matching build plates and markings on the wiper motor, the water pump, and other components - Motorcars planned this restoration carefully. The motor was completely rebuilt and balanced, with all new bearings and a complete refurbishment of the cylinder head. A new clutch, and a Synchronized Series 1 1966 transmission was installed. The car comes with the original, Moss gearbox. Detailed documentation shows the matching numbers for the transmission and cover. Pictures show the body tag, front engine frame number, and head and engine block number also matching. The commission plate has never been removed from the car. Motorcars Incorporated will provide the new owner of this fantastic motorcar with the original hood envelope, a bound copy of all documented pictures, the Heritage Certificate and copies of pertinent paperwork related to the original transmission, original hard top, and chrome.

Included with this vehicle is the original, never-been-painted hard top, in good condition, as well as the original toolkit and original jack. A BAS Ltd. custom top was proper-made for this car. The original dash cover is in place and the nose features near-perfect front headlight Triplex...
