This 1955 Willys Jeep M170 Frontline Ambulance is a rare and highly collectible piece of American military history. Powered by the original Willys "Hurricane" F-Head 134ci 2.2L inline 4-cylinder engine paired with a Borg-Warner 790 3-speed manual transmission, this M170 starts right up and drives. Finished in semi-gloss olive drab green with matching olive drab interior, this military ambulance was originally used by the Army National Guard and was specifically designed with an extended 101-inch wheelbase to maximize medical utility over standard military Jeeps. The M170 cabin was reconfigured to accommodate up to three stretchers (litters) along with medical equipment, and this example still includes both stretcher racks - one lower and one suspended. Equipped with a 24-volt electrical system, winter package, blackout lights, newer canvas top, and new fuel tank, this Jeep comes loaded with history and originality. Also included is an additional wrapped skid containing the original top, tires, gas tank, and miscellaneous parts. Tons of original documentation accompany the vehicle, making it an outstanding addition for collectors, museums, military enthusiasts, or parade use.
